Children with English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Our school community includes families with a home language other than English.
The priority for our EAL speakers is to ensure children access the curriculum and continue to make progress alongside their peers. We provide targeted intervention where appropriate, using a variety of resources including teaching and learning materials aimed at supporting children's language development.
Where necessary, we will liaise with outside agencies such as EMTAS (Ethnic Minority and Achievement Service) in Hampshire for additional pupil assessment and support to remove barriers and inequalities in attainment and achievement.
