Your Spelling Rule
This week’s words have unusual letter combinations. They are taken from the list of statutory words that all children will need to know by the end of year 4. It might help to write the word out and identify the tricky part, then think of a way to remember this.
Your Spelling Words

- A special present was bought for mother’s day.
- The natural landscape was beautiful.
- What knowledge have you gained today?

As a way to help you learn your spellings we would like you to complete the spelling activities sheet stuck in your homework book.
Please learn spellings ready for a test on Thursday 28th March
Please use your handwriting homework book to practise your spellings. Put the short date at the top of the page and then write each of the words above out 5 times in your neatest joined handwriting.
(Individual spellers with more words, please write out your spellings 4 times)
Times tables- TT Rockstars
In school next week you will be practising the 12 times tables. The main focus is on increasing your mental recall speed for these times tables facts.
You could also practise at home by logging on to TT Rockstars and earning coins for each times table fact you answer correctly or visit TT Rockstars club on a Thursday lunchtime.
You should also ensure you are reading to an adult at home at least 3 times a week and record this in your home school diary. Remember 20 reads = a house point!
Home school diaries
Please make sure home school diaries are signed each week. Home school diaries should be in school each day as they are often used to share informal messages and test results will be recorded in them each week. A reminder to make sure home school diaries are signed each week please.
Before half term we will be making musical instruments as part of our science topic – Sound. We would be grateful for any cardboard boxes or packaging that is clean and may suitable for make these models.
